Baishaakhi Mela o' Shangeet Shandhya
Dear Community Members and Friends:
Please mark your calendar for the upcoming event, Baishaakhi Mela o' Shangeet Shandhya, hosted by Triangle Bangladesh Society of North Carolina on Saturday, May 19, 2007.
Our goal is to make this also memorable and enjoyable event, and for that we need your participation, blessing and generous support to make the event successful.
TBSNC is delighted to present our guest artist, a renowned singer of Bangladesh, Tapan Chowdhury. Tapan is the key vocalist of the famous Bangle band, Souls. He has been performing for over 35 years on stage, radio, and TV. He will be presenting a number of modern songs including some famous melodious folk songs of his famous albums.
- We are planning an exciting program with our excellent local artists and also expecting participation form artists in Fayetteville , Charlotte , and Greensboro - more later.

Please make every effort to be on TIME for Mela and we will start the program on time and must finish by 10:30 pm.

Time:
- 4:00 - 6.00 p.m.: Mela - Muktadhara is also expected to be at the Mela and please see attached file for details
- 6:00 - 7:15 p.m.: Cultural program by artists from local and surrounding communities
- 7:15 – 8:25 p.m.: Dinner and Prayer break - Food will be served by Tandoor Indian Restaurant (Chicken Biriyani, Samosa, Chana Dal) in a box for $5.00. Drinks will be available at additional cost - please also help us keep the campus CLEAN to avoid future issues.
- 8:30 -10:30 p.m.+: Cultural program by Tapan Chowdhury
Admission:
Tickets will be sold prior to this event and once again, we expect your generous support/donation to cover associated expenses. General admission is $5.00 per person and children under the age of 12 are free.
