Annual Summer Picnic '08

Dear TBSNC Community members and friends,

"Yes, we can" -- play together in the summer picnic because we care about our families, friendship and fresh air!

Please bring your good spirit and energy to our annual summer outdoors event this coming Saturday, June 21 2008 at the Sandling beach.

Date: June 21, 2008
Place: Sandling Beach Picnic Shelter #7, Falls Lake Rec Area, Raleigh, NC

Schedule:

Cost:

$8 for adults and youths age 11 and above; and $4 for kids ages 4-10

For Parents with small children: please bring swim suits, extra pair of clothes and sunscreen if they will be playing with water or at the beach.

For Fishing Enthusiasts: please bring you fishing gear, bait and license.

For swimmers: please bring swim suits and a change of clothes.

For volleyball/badminton/soccer players: please bring your equipments.

For musicians/singers: please bring your instruments.

We look forward to seeing you at the fun-filled summer picnic.

Directions to Sandling Beach at the Falls Lake Recreation Area

From Downtown Durham

Take Wake Forest Highway (NC 98)
Travel east towards Wake Forest for approx. 8 miles
Wake Forest Highway (NC 98) will become Durham Road
Take the Creedmoor Rd (NC 50) North loop exit
Merge on to Creedmoor Rd (NC 50) to go north
Continue approx 4 mi and look for the Beaver Dam Rec Area/Sandling Beach sign
Turn left at the Sandling Beach driveway (Beaver Dam driveway is on your right)
Pay $5 per car entrance fee at the gate
Pickup a map from the staff and follow park signs to Picnic Shelter #7 (PS #7)

From West Cary, Apex, Holly Springs

Take Highway 55
Travel north towards RTP
Take I-540 towards Raleigh
Take the Creedmoor Rd (NC 50) exit (exit#9)
Turn left on to Creedmoor Rd (NC 50) to go north
Continue approx 9 mi and look for the Beaver Dam Rec Area/Sandling Beach sign
Turn left at the Sandling Beach driveway (Beaver Dam driveway is on your right)
Pay $5 per car entrance fee at the gate
Pickup a map from the staff and follow park signs to Picnic Shelter #7 (PS #7)

From NCSU, East Cary and downtown Raleigh

Take I-440 inner loop
Travel north towards Crabtree Mall
Take the Glenwood Ave exit (exit#7)
Turn left at the light
Turn right at the Creedmoor Rd light (after Marriott Dr)
Continue on Creedmoor Rd (NC 50) and go past I-540
Continue approx 9 mi and look for the Beaver Dam Rec Area/Sandling Beach sign
Turn left at the Sandling Beach driveway (Beaver Dam driveway is on your right)
Pay $5 per car entrance fee at the gate
Pickup a map from the staff and follow park signs to Picnic Shelter #7 (PS #7)

From Chapel Hill (also Greensboro, Winston-Salem, High Point, Charlotte)

Take I-40 East towards Raleigh
Take the I-540 exit (Exit#283)
Continue on I-540 for approx 8 miles
Take the Creedmoor Rd (NC 50) exit (exit#9)
Turn left on to Creedmoor Rd (NC 50) to go north
Continue approx 9 mi and look for the Beaver Dam Rec Area/Sandling Beach sign
Turn left at the Sandling Beach driveway (Beaver Dam driveway is on your right)
