TBSNC Highlights Cyclone Sidr
On November 15, 2007 cyclone Sidr made landfall in southern Bangladesh with winds of over 155 miles per hour. The devastating cyclone resulted in over 3,000 deaths and displacement of over three million people. At the AGM, Eid and Year End Celeberation on November 17, Triangle Bangladesh Society of North Carolina (TBSNC) expressed condolences and profound concerns over the loss of lives in Bangladesh due to cyclone Sidr and initiated a fundraising effort for cyclone victims of Bangladesh. The society has mobilized its community volunteers and raised over $11,500 already.
