2006 AGM, Election, Eid & Year End Celebration

Dear Community Members:
 
Please join us in the final event of the year hosted by TBSNC: AGM, Election, and Eid & Year End Celebration, on Saturday November 11, 2006 at Forest Hills Baptist Church, Raleigh.
 
We would like to have a lively discussion with community members at the Annual General Meeting.  The stage will be open for comments, criticism, and suggestions from community members during the AGM (based on availability of time).  However, we encourage interested parties to contact us beforehand at tbsncorg@gmail.com so that we could put their names on top of the list.
 
Community members will have the opportunity to elect a new Executive Committee this year.  We are pleased to announce the names of the Election Committee (Nomination Approval & Transition Oversight Committee or NATOC) members appointed by the Advisory Council.  NATOC members will conduct the upcoming TBSNC election on Nov 11.

They are as follows:

2. Dr. Hirishikesh Chakraborty
3. Dr. Sagir Ahmed

Finally, the Eid & Year End Celebration will feature a special solo musical performance by Khandakar Arju Momen from New York.  Mr. Momen took lessons on classical music from the renowned musician Ustad Akhtar Sadmani.  He is comfortable With Modern Bangla songs (e.g., Manna Dey, Satinath), Rabindra-Nazrul Sangeet, Folk songs, and Gazhal.
 
We are hopeful that you will enjoy the food as much as you did in the Eid reunion at the beginning of this year.  We had to charge a little more in order to ensure quality of  food and at the same time, to partially make up for the cost of the artist.  We will have to stick to the schedule because of the time constraint put on us by the Church authority, so please be there on time.  Hope to see you all at this important event.

3:00 - 4:00 pm - Setup
4:00 - 5:15 pm - Annual General Meeting
5:15 - 5:30 pm - Break/Recess
5:30 - 6:45 pm - Election
6:45 - 7:45 pm - Dinner
7:45 - 9:00 pm - Cultural program
9:00 - 9:30 pm - Cleanup

Directions:
From Downtown Raleigh: 
Take Hillsborough Street and go west. After passing the bell tower at NCSU, go 0.7 miles. Take a right on Dixie Trail. Go 0.2 miles.  Church is on the left.

From the West:  
From I-40, take the Wade Ave. exit. Go 4.1 miles. Turn right on Dixie Trail. (3rd light from the I-440 beltline) Church is on the right.

From the South/East: 
Follow signs for I-440 North to Raleigh. Go 3.5 miles to Exit 4 ("Wade Ave. and Cameron Village.") Follow Wade Ave. to Dixie Trail (3rd light.) Turn right on Dixie Trail. Church is on the right.

From the North: 
Take the I-440 West exit on to the Beltline. Follow this road to the Wade Ave. East Exit. Follow Wade Ave. to Dixie Trail (3rd light.) Turn right on Dixie Trail. Church is on the right.
 
Fees:
$ 8 per person (Free for children under 8)
$ 5 for persons 8-12 years
$ 30 for family and guest groups of 4 or more
